The Recipe That Made Me a Believer

Our first spring at our new little farm house was busy to say the least. Digging sod up and planning the new garden, mowing down waist high grass (well, at least my waist ~ short girl problems)to make room for baby apple trees.

All this outdoorsy time was a slice of heaven! ...And then they came, and they kept coming!
Those tiny, nasty, black, creepy-crawlies. TICKS! They waited in the tall grass, which was everywhere, and hopped on every shoe, pants leg, and especially the dog, and into our house they came. Ewwwwe!

Our little pup was treated with the usually flea and tick meds, but that only gets rid of them when they bite or lay eggs. What about those ones just hitching a ride? Something had to be safe to put on my kids and the pup, yet actually work!

I finally found the right ingredients... essential oils. The most important one being geranium, but all these combined together work the best! We went from picking dozens of ticks off before we went inside and still find one or two later... to NONE!! That is right! No more came in on our clothes! Life changing!

Natural Tick Repellant
10 drops Geranium
5 drops Cedarwood
5 drops Lavender
5 drops Lemon (or Lemongrass)
1 tsp witch hazel
Add all ingredients to a 4oz glass spray bottle and top with water.
Shake before each use and spray where needed.

I sprayed it on all our family and the little tiny kiddos that came to visit. Everyone could play outside and not worry. This is now a favorite spring time must have for the whole family. Definitely a must for hiking and camping.

Try it out and let me know how you like it!!

Here's a quick video too.
